That is why we are looking at some tips that will help you get through the process of child custody. As a rule you have to note that you are going to be dealing with the idea of the child custody through the courts unless you have an agreement in place before hand.

This can help matters but it is often not all that easy. Both parents obviously want to have something that is beneficial for both but that is hard to come by.

Primary
The primary parent is the one that the children will live with and in most cases they will be responsible for the day to day care of the child. This means that you need to work with the issues that are surrounding this issue and understand that you may not be the best choice.

Ensure that you are able to get through to yourself and be responsible in the decision. Do not fight to hurt the other person.

Support
If you are not the primary parent then you are most likely going to be the one that has to pay child support. This is going to be an issue that is hard to swallow.

The amount of the support is the amount of money that you pay based on how much you make and how much the other parent makes as well. There are some times that the amount is very high if there are a lot of children but that is negotiable.

Visitation
You are going to get rights to visitation with the children if you are not the primary care parent. This is usually a weekend thing that happens with some days during the week.

You can always work with the other parent and arrange for other days and as long as you are on good terms then you should be able to come to sort of agreement that will be mutually beneficial. All you really need to do is be on solid ground. Be kind and bendable with these issues.
